What is CIGIP

CIGIP (Centro de Investigación en Gestión de Proyectos e Ingeniería de Producción) is a research center based at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). It focuses on improving project management, operations, and industrial engineering processes through innovation and applied research. The center collaborates with companies and institutions to develop advanced solutions in areas such as decision-making, optimization, and business process management, aiming to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability in organizations.

My experience

During my time at CIGIP, I was responsible for maintaining and improving several of the organization’s IT systems and services. One of my main tasks was migrating an outdated website from Joomla to WordPress. This involved transferring the existing content database, learning how both systems manage data, and redesigning the frontend to create a more modern and usable interface. In addition, I set up a GitLab server to support version control and collaboration. I was also responsible for managing and maintaining a Windows Server environment hosting around 20 virtual machines, ensuring stability and proper operation of all services.
